Malaysia: Kyoto in the heart of KL

Malaysia: Kyoto in the heart of KL

It has been one year since the pandemic caused chaos around the globe. That means travel plans were halted 90% of the time. What does that mean for us Malaysians? Travel lokal lah! Vacation or staycation — adhering to SOPs of course, we’re not so stubborn now, are we? It’s times like these we tend to appreciate the beauty of our own country more. In a period where even crossing state borders were controlled, I decided for a staycation in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang. Lo and behold, I killed two birds with one stone as the Airbnb I booked was Japanese themed. I felt like I was in Japan and Malaysia both at the same time.

The unit is situated in Fahrenheit Suites, which is part of Fahrenheit 88 — the mall opposite Pavilion (the more known mall). You can’t beat this location for sure. Food? Everywhere! Shopping? Everywhere!!

The Unit

As mentioned, the unit itself is part of Fahrenheit 88 therefor that’s where you’ll park. From the parking lot, there is a direct lift to the Fahrenheit Suites to collect the keys. Equiped with digital lock for extra safety, the unit consists of 2 bedroom plus 2 bathroom and sleeps 6 comfortably. Each room decorated to fit the Japanese theme just like the living hall. The smaller room with one queen sized bed also has a TV programmed with Netflix. You know, in case you just want to stay home and….. chill. The room also features attached bathroom.

The second bedroom, also Japanese themed, has 2 large beds with en-suite bathroom. Both rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans so you won’t be melting in Malaysia’s heat.

The unit also comes with completely equipped kitchen. The kitchen too features a mini balcony where you can hang out and have a cup of tea.. or a slice of cake. Or pizza. Sushi. Anything, really.

The hosts are also kind enough to provide kimonos for guests to wear. Together with the paper umbrella and cat (or maybe fox) masks, and the traditional Japanese tea setting in the living room, I definitely felt like I was in Japan. More photos on my Instagram.

Facilities & Services

Since the unit is located in a residence condominium, there’s not much facilities you can expect like a hotel. Except that it’s connected to the mall. Other than that, security guard is placed 24/7 at the lift entrance on the ground floor for safety reasons.

Amenities include :
-wifi
-iron
-hangers
-hairdryer
-water heating
-basic essentials (towels, shampoo, etc)
-cooking basics
-microwave
-refridgerator
-dishes & silverware
-patio/balcony
-pool (may be closed due to the pandemic).

The hosts were also very kind and attentive towards the guests enquiries. They reply super quick too — I like.

Hygiene & Cleanliness

I was very pleased with how clean the apartment was when I arrived. I found no speck of dust anywhere. Both the bathrooms very squeaky clean too.

Overall

I was contented with my stay at Ancient Loft House. Everything is at your convenience. They even have the QR code for you to register when you come in, due to the pandemic. From what we understand, the unit is cleaned and sanitised after every guest usage, so yay!

Other than that, come on, look at this Instagramable accommodation. The place is beautiful, the location is stellar, food is everywhere — you can walk, order grab/foodpanda literally food, everywhere.

I cannot recommend this place enough for a short (or long) staycation in the heart of KL.
