As you pull up to the hotel lobby, friendly greetings by the staffs welcome you to the charming reception area for a refreshment bite and drink while you check into your room. You may opt to check-in online via the Marriott Bonvoy App too if you wish. I highly recommending you double confirm with the hotel on your room details pre-arrival to avoid any mix up in the system — we unfortunately had to wait an hour to get our room sorted. But, staying true to its top notch hospitality, we were treated lunch while we wait and had our check-in service in the suite.

So, a quick tour around the premise with the butler and you’ll be on your way to your lodgings!

In the room, sweet treats and fruits welcome you with a personalised note, ushering good vibes and exclusivity to the overall experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS

From residential style rooms to suites to over-water villas, the elevated luxury experience is undeniable.
The rainforest view for nature lovers and sea-facing accommodation for those longing to escape the city, there’s bound to be the perfect lodging for your vacation.

We booked a suite and got upgraded to the Oceanfront view Suite with the Plunge Pool — hurrah! It came with a spacious living room, bedroom area and a bathroom with two vanity stations. However, the luggage storage area can be a little cramped for some and you might end up sprawling the suitcases open at the living room instead. Mobile service? We barely got any signal for Maxis and Celcom. However, the wi-fi network? Excellent! Not just in the room, but throughout the resort too.

The plush king bed and soft pillows we had in the room were so comfortable that we had to resist every urge we had to stay in bed all day.

Pressing service is available, but book your slots at least an hour or two before. Iron and ironing board are available on request and we personally think the iron could use an upgrade to match the luxurious setting of everything else.

Selected rooms & suites come with a balcony or terrace and a private cabana. Luck wasn’t always on our side, our upgrade was fairly redundant as we didn’t manage to catch a dip in the private pool. Unfortunately, we had wasps roaming our garden and they later found two newly built hives above the pool and near the private cabana. The hotel took swift actions upon learning this but some things like nature just can’t be fully controlled. We were told that the dried leaves and branches at the top of the pool cabana makes a perfect habitat for the wasp and bees so this could be a factor too. (Also, don’t bring your floral fragrances here, they really do attract the bees and wasps — I learned the hard way!)

And, keep in mind to not leave your belongings & food outside as this will attract uninvited guests. You’ll find various type of wildlife here but they mean no harm, so no worries!

If you’re in the mood to spend a little more, book one of the four sunset overwater villas to enjoy the breathtaking sun downs overlooking the Andaman Sea. Each villas also comes with a private infinity pool for you to indulge. Complete with a separate living and dining rooms, kitchenette, and a spacious walk-in wardrobe, the bespoke interior is the most welcoming after a long day spent in the sun.

DINING
From breakfast to lunch to tea and dinner, you’ll be taken to a gastronomic trip throughout your stay. With 4 main F&B and 2 on site deli & bar, your palate will never be bored!

L’Orangerie
An all day dining outlet that features both western and asian cuisine. You’ll also have your extensive breakfast buffet spread here and trust me, you don’t want to miss breakfast at St Regis! This is also where you’ll find Gourmand Deli, a cute corner for you to grab a quick bite!

Pantai Grill
Enjoy the breeze with your meal at this rustic beachfront restaurant that serves premium seafood and steaks cooked on wood-fire grill.

The St Regis Bar
Be it for Afternoon Tea or to wind down with a cocktail, the St Regis Bar is set to capture your heart with the exquisite interior and cosy mood setting. Here, you’ll also find the signature wine bar, Decanter, where connoisseurs get to enjoy the pleasure of rare vintages

Kayuputi
Elegant dining setting at the over water restaurant that serves delectable Pan-Asian cuisines. We personally loved the outdoor hammock overlooking the sunset — a truly magical experience with your loved one!

In room dining service is also available 24 hours at your convenience and comfort.

An experience not to be missed. My favourite spot to do this would be at one of Kayuputi’s hammocks. Alternatively, pick your seat at one of the iconic blue lounge chairs or cushions by the beach — it’s free anyway!

Kids
Unfortunately, there are no kids club available at this resort. There are however a few activities curated for the lil ones to enjoy :
– Sand Architechture
– Scavenger hunt
– Junior chef

SPA

Located in front of the Athletic Club, The Iridium Spa offers ancient and modern technique treatments elevated by the curative essences of Langkawi’s tropical botanicals. Each experience at the spa is customised to your specific needs — a truly bespoke session!

HYGIENCE/CLEANLINESS
The resort is constantly disinfected to meet or exceed the regulatory requirements and the recommendations of the government or health regulatory bodies.
Happy to report that our room was dust free and regularly cleaned meeting the top notch expectation.
We did however, encounter with some insects in the room. One being most memorable would be the small albino spider jumping on the couch — eek! So pack your insect repellents!

OVERALL

Our stay at St Regis Langkawi has definitely been memorable to say the least. Favourite part? The breakfast spread of course! Truly delectable and extensive — feast for the king.
Thanks to St Regis, I finally mustered up the courage to go on my first kayaking experience. The sunset views at this part of the country, is also magnificent! The resort staffs were also always greeting us with a smile and attentive to our needs, no matter how non-sense they were! A true elevated luxury experience on the island, I must say. Is the resort worth the hype? Maybe, especially if you’re looking for comfort and hospitality service. Also, every corner at this resort is picture-worthy so you’ll be going home packed with tons of great memories captured. We do however wish that resort would take care of the wasp (and insect) situation before we return in the future.
